Vodafone offers 'unlimited' mobile music

Vodafone have reached an agreement with Omnifone to offer its Musicstation service, which the operator hopes will attract customers over the itunes service available when using the new Apple device on O2.
Musicstation offers unlimited access to a library of around 1 million tracks for a cost of only £2 a week. Songs can be downloaded over the air with either 2.5G or 3G enabled handsets and will be bundled with the forthcoming Nokia N95, Samsung F700 and Sony Ericsson W910i handsets (see right).
MusicStation includes artists from all the major record companies as well as the main independent labels. The service allows the creation and sharing of music playlists and tracks between users and because it isn't tied into a single operator or phone company, people will be able to keep their music if they change handsets or switch to a new operator.
