Motorola U9 launched - not PEBL or ROKR!

In a surprising move Motorola has launched its replacement to the U6 model without a 'family' name. The Motorola U9 was rumored to be a PEBL style handset but, being also a music device it was suggested it would acquire the ROKR tag. In the end it seems Motorola chose neither to avoid any confusion.

The Motorola U9 will be a conventional clam (no fancy hinge this time) offering touch sensitive keys on the front to control your music via a Windows Media Player 11 supporting application. The U9 offers stereo Bluetooth and micro SD card slot to complement this. The camera is 2 megapixel and the internal screen a 2" 262k colour TFT specification item.
