Free wireless access to Nokia music with The Cloud

Nokia and wireless broadband provider The Cloud have signed an agreement to allow customers access to the Nokia Music Store for free at any of the 7500 Wi-Fi hotspots The Cloud operate around the UK. Many of these can be found in popular locations and include Coffee Republic, McDonalds and even BAA airports.
The non-exclusive agreement gives users free access to the Nokia Music Store through laptops or optimized Nokia devices. But customers must pay 80p to download an individual track or £8 per album.

Musicstation service free to £40 contract customers?

Following our earlier news of Vodafone's agreement with Omnifone to offer their Musicstation service to its customers, further rumours have appeared to suggest the network will offer Musicstation free to any monthly subscribers spending £40 a month or more on an 18 month contract.

This move could be a strong preventative step in the bid to stop customers moving to Apples iPhone when O2 launch it on 9th November.
The Musicstation package retails at £1.99 per week but these 'premium' customers would be given access to unlimited dowloads for free. The service will be pre-loaded on some new Vodafone handsets in its Christmas line up and available through Vodafone Live! on others.
