Nokia and O2 "Oyster card phone" in planning

A recent news story from The Guardian explains how Transport for London are working with Nokia and O2 in preparation to launch "a handset with a built-in Oyster card".
The report explains that the scheme will allow travellers to pay for their journeys simply by swiping a compatible mobile phone across the ticket-reading machine. The system appears to be targeted at the tube but could be rolled out for use on buses, trams and some overland train journeys around the capital as well.
Payment would be deducted from a pre-paid account or added to the users phone bill.
